Lets Start Shooting.

I Love your images
I Love the way you frame your shot, I Love the feel to your images and so on. These are the Complements I get from my clients and other people for my work.
Yes, it does feel good to get praised for your work, but there was a time I had no clue at all on how my final shot would stand out to be like ?

Mirror Image of Me. (Nikon D7000 with a 50mm F/1.8 G lens)

I often come across people who are very passionate about photography , some doing it as a hobby and some planning to take their hobby one step ahead to make it their profession. Trust me, its a long long list of question and issues I get to hear from them.

How can I get this kind of shot on this camera, I mean I just have a Entry Level D-SLR?
I can't even think of shooting a Portrait, I don't own a Prime Lens ?
I don't get enough of free time to shoot, hence I don't.
Where can I find a Good background to shoot against with ?

As you can see, the list will go on and on if I list them all down here. As you are reading this, I'm sure even you might be having a list of question in your mind too, don't worry I guess I'll be able to clear them of to you by the end of this post.

Before We proceed further , I would like to let you guys know that all the images used for this post were shot on a Nikon D3300 with the 18-55 kit Lens, Location: Open Terrace on my Building . Time: Less then 30 min from start to end of the shoot.
Special thanks to Raghva, who happens to be the model for this Shoot.

1. How can I get this kind of shot on this camera, I mean I just have a Entry Level D-SLR?
Having a doubt weather you can or cannot ? Ask yourself first, did you spend time with your camera knowing how it works , what all can you do with it , how can you use it to its full potential ?
If Not yet , start with it right now, take your camera out of the bag, start shooting.

2. I can't even think of shooting a Portrait, I don't own a Prime Lens ?
Who said , you can shoot a Portrait , Only on a Prime Lens.
Yes, Prime lens are always a Good Choice when it comes to shooting a Portrait , But that doesn't mean your Kit Lens can't get it done. Your Kit lens offers you a decent amount of Zoom range starting from 18mm to 55mm and some high end kit lenses go up to a zoom range of 105mm and 135mm, allowing you to use it for various occasion.
when it comes to shooting a portrait, don't be fooled by "You can only shoot at portrait at 35mm, 50mm, 70mm, 85mm, 105mm, 135mm, 200mm". Photography is all about using your own creativity to your shot, so Zoom In, Zoom Out, let your creativity flow and get that shot.

It’s all out there, its how you look at it.
This is something Photography has thought me over the past years.
As I mentioned above , photography is all about your own creativity, its how you look at things. You never know what something might look like until and unless you "See".
Below are some shots which I shot using my phone just to show a wider view of the place I was shooting, followed by the images I shot using the Nikon D3300. This would give you a better understanding on how you can come up with your own backgrounds for your shots.

So what are you waiting for, Get your camera, take some time out and start shooting.

I'll be coming up with some more post which would help you learn more and more about the creative world of Photography, Until then, take care and Keep Shooting.

50mm, Your Next Lens.

Which lens do I buy now? This is one of the major questions which you all might be having about which lens do I buy after the basic kit lens. I highly recommend going in for the 50mm Prime lens. With the Wide Aperture of F/1.8, especially going from the typical 18-55mm kit lens which is usually f/5.6, this lens gives you 3 stops more light coming through the lens opening.
